Nanette Burroughs

April 30, 1947 – October 4, 2023

Nanette Burroughs, née Grady, passed through the gates of Heaven on October 4, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. She was born to William Grady and Bonnie Newbold Shepherd in Murray, Utah, and later gained a stepfather, Keith Shepherd. She reunites with her parents as well as her grandparents, Marks J. Newbold and Lizzie Newbold, with whom she lived for many of her childhood years and held many fond memories. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Shroder, and an uncle. Nanette is survived by four brothers and a sister, son Robert W. Shroder and wife, Theresa, son Ronald W. Shroder and wife, Melissa, son Russell W. Shroder and wife, Celia, daughter Amy DeKryger and husband, Chad, son Keith Avakian and wife, Lisa, son Mark, 16 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Before retiring, Nanetteproudly served her community as a nurse specializing in geriatrics. She was a long-time fan of all Colorado sports teams, especially the Broncos, she loved cats, gardening, and being a Nana. A celebration of life will be held on a later date.
