Debra L. Savoren, 69, passed away at Swedish Hospital on April 8, 2021. Debra was born on September 5, 1951, in Leadville, Colorado. She grew up in Leadville and graduated from Lake County High School in 1969. After graduation she attended Fort Lewis College for two years. She came back to Lake County where she worked as a Secretary at the Climax Molybdenum Mine for ten years. She then took time away from employment to raise her family before going back to work. This time she was employed at the Lake County School District where she spent over fourteen satisfying years.
Debra remained in Leadville all her life because of her love for the outdoors and the quality of life the mountains have to offer. Her greatest enjoyments included camping and hunting with her family. Debra loved to cook, loved her family immensely, and particularly enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Debra is proceeded in death by her parents, Donald and Doris McCarty, and her brother, James McCarty. Debra is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, David A. Savoren; her brother, Donald McCarty; son David J. Savoren, and Jennifer (Mark) Wadsworth. She leaves behind three grandchildren, Elizabeth Savoren, Peleg Matthew Wadsworth, and Morgan Wadsworth all of Leadville.
