Michael Anthony Chavez was born on January 16, 1982 in Farmington, NM to Yogi and Darlene Chavez of Bloomfield, NM. Michael took on the greatest adventure of his life on March 8, 2024 from Denver, CO into the loving arms of Jesus. He was surrounded by the love of his amazing caretakers, his momma and his sister Alyssa, whom he adored.
Michael grew up and attended school in Bloomfield, NM. He was a very curious, always asking why, fun loving, caring ornery boy. After high school Michael married his inspiration, Courtney and loved her unconditionally. They dedicated themselves to raising their children, Savannah, Elias, and Corrina. They made their home in Albuquerque, NM. Michael worked as a proud journeyman for Union Local 1319 as a carpenter. He exemplified hard work and worked tirelessly for his family. Hard work is all Michael had ever known. He was a great provider, teacher, and brother. Work was never a hard task for him. his work skills were countless as there were many things that he was handy at. He was an awesome person! He was effortless at being himself and making others laugh: mainly because his laugh was so contagious. His smile was eye-catching and the enjoyment of his jokes and remarks were his signature. He was definitely one of a kind. He never tried to cause harm to others, and was always understanding, supportive, and wanting everyone to accomplish their goals. His biggest desire was for his children to be the best they can be and loved them with the greatest love he had. Michael was loved deeply and will forever be missed by all that are left to meet him again someday.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Armijo and Mary Chavez, and cousin Joshua Chavez.
He will be greatly missed by his parents Yogi and Darlene Chavez, His sister Alyssa, and God Sister Andra. His children Savannah, Elias, and Corrina. Courtney Chavez, his Papo and Nonie (Dennis and Diane Valencia) and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who adore him.
Our deepest and sincerest thanks to all of our family and friends who've been with us through these last four months. We greatly appreciate your amazing outpouring of love, support, kindness, and sympathy during this life changing experience. Thank you for keeping us in your hearts and prayers.
A Silent Tear
Just close your eyes and you will see
All the memories that you have of me
Just sit and relax and you will find
I'm still here inside your mind
Don't cry for me now I'm gone
For I am in the land of song
There is no pain, there is no fear
So dry away that silent tear
Don't think of me in the dark and cold
For here I am, no longer old
I am in that place that is filled with love
Known to you all as, "Up above".
